# **The EBT Carding Method: How To Turn EBTs into Cash**

The method described below is used to turn EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards into cash. Instead of using EBT cards for food purchases (as they are intended), the process involves treating them like regular debit cards and cashing them out using a POS (Point of Sale) system. This article outlines the steps that scammers typically follow to exploit EBT cards.

### **1. Overview**

This method involves converting EBT cards into cash, bypassing their original use for food. The aim is to treat EBT cards as regular debit cards, swiping them at a POS system to generate cash. With the right setup, this operation could result in significant profits each week.

---

### **2. Required Tools and Setup**

To execute this method, the following tools and resources are necessary:

* **FNS Number**: The FNS number is required to process EBT transactions legally through a POS system. Acquiring one can cost between \$1,000–\$2,000, but it may be obtained for a lower price with certain connections.
* **POS System (Clover, Square, etc.)**: A POS system is used to process transactions. You need to configure it with the FNS number and business registration details to get it approved.
* **Business Bank Account**: A business account is required to receive the funds from the EBT transactions.
* **Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR605X)**: This device is used to rewrite the data from EBT dumps onto physical cards.
* **EBT Dumps with PINs**: These are the card details used to make transactions.

---

### **3. Setting Up the Operation**

#### **Step 1: Acquiring the FNS Number**

To legally process EBT cards, you need to acquire an FNS number. When purchasing it, ensure the seller provides the following:

* The FNS number
* Business registration details, which are needed for POS approval

#### **Step 2: Configuring the POS System**

Next, you need to apply for a POS system, such as Clover or Square, and provide the FNS number and business details to complete the registration process. Once approved, you can use the system to swipe EBT cards like regular debit cards.

#### **Step 3: Linking a Business Bank Account**

The POS system must be connected to a business bank account in order to facilitate the transfer of funds from processed EBT transactions.

---

### **4. Rewriting EBT Dumps to Physical Cards**

#### **Step 1: Preparing the MSR**

Connect your Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR605X) and open the required software to begin writing data onto a card.

#### **Step 2: Loading the EBT Dump**

Insert a state-issued EBT card and load the Track 1 and Track 2 data from your dump. Make sure the card matches the state of your FNS number. Do **not** enter the PIN here. The PIN will be used later during the transaction.

#### **Step 3: Testing the Card**

After writing the data onto the card, test it at a POS terminal to ensure the card functions correctly before processing any transactions.

---

### **5. Processing the Transactions**

#### **Step 1: Check the Balance**

Before running any transactions, always verify the balance by calling the state’s EBT customer service number. Enter the card number and PIN to confirm that the funds are available. This is a safer method than using online services or retail checkouts.

#### **Step 2: Swipe the Card for Cash**

Once the balance is confirmed, swipe the card at the POS system and enter the PIN when prompted. The funds will then be transferred into the linked business bank account.

#### **Step 3: Withdraw the Funds**

Once the funds are deposited into your business account, you can withdraw them as cash.

---

### **6. EBT Dump Quality**

Not all EBT dumps are equal. The quality of the dump determines the success rate of the transaction:

* **Basic EBTs**: Older EBT dumps with lower success rates. Use caution when handling these.
* **Fresh EBTs**: These are newer dumps with a higher likelihood of success, as they often have updated balances and valid data.
* **Checked EBTs**: The highest-quality dumps, which have verified deposit dates and amounts. These are typically more expensive but provide the highest success rate for processing transactions.

---

### **7. Scaling the Operation**

To scale your operation, consider the following:

* **Multiple FNS Numbers**: The more FNS numbers you acquire, the more locations and transactions you can process.
* **Multiple POS Setups**: Setting up multiple POS systems allows you to process more transactions across different locations.
* **Bulk EBT Dumps**: Purchasing EBT dumps in bulk can reduce costs and increase efficiency.

---

### **8. Troubleshooting Common Issues**

Here are some common issues that may arise and how to address them:

* **Declined Transactions**: Ensure that the EBT card’s state matches the FNS number of the POS system. If the states don’t match, the transaction will be declined.
* **POS Systems Flagged**: To avoid being flagged, space out your transactions over time. It may also help to buy FNS numbers directly from trusted vendors or individuals.
* **Low Balances**: Always check the balance before attempting a transaction. It only takes a minute to call the EBT customer service line.

---

### **9. Pricing and Availability of EBT Dumps (U.S. Only)**

EBT dumps are sold in bulk or individually, with prices varying based on quality:

* **Basic/Old EBT**: \$20 per dump
* **Fresh EBT**: \$45 per dump
* **Checked EBT**: \$75 per dump

Bulk pricing for 100 dumps:

* **Basic EBT**: \$1,500
* **Fresh EBT**: \$3,500
* **Checked EBT**: \$6,000
